Why you shouldn’t be using Internet Explorer

It has come to our attention that there is still a percentage of our customers who are accessing and purchasing on our website whilst using the expired Internet Explorer browser. We would like to take this opportunity to inform our customers why they shouldn’t be using this platform anymore, and switch to an alternative as soon as possible.
The main concern with using Internet Explorer (IE), is security. When using the IE browser, you are far more susceptible to hackers looking to discover the security software that you are using; and once they know this, they can attack your computer without you ever knowing!
Microsoft themselves have advised people to move away from using IE- they released a blog back in February of last year titled ‘The Perils of Using Internet Explorer as Your Default Browser’. The author of this blog, explains that IE is a ‘compatibility solution’ which does not ‘support new web standards’- basically meaning newer websites may not look or perform as expected.

We understand that some people have no choice in what browser they have access to, for example if it’s the default browser in your workplace. So, we hope this article can also help convince those in charge of IT systems to update their company’s online tools.
