Red Nose Day 2021

Flowtech pulled out all the stops for Red Nose Day 2021!
Our staff came in last Friday (19th March) sporting their best red clothes and got fully involved in all the activities that we had planned in the office; all in aid of raising money for Comic Relief. We raised a total of £230 from our sponsored ‘Every Step Counts’ and £58 in cash donations throughout the day.
The numerous activities on Friday included:
A Quiz- To test our staff’s knowledge in: current affairs, general knowledge and also fluid power. Some of the Flowtech teams, such as the Call Centre and Customer Services, have been taking part in some internal training recently, to further develop their product and technical knowledge and also product association. Judging by the scores of the quiz… the training is definitely paying off!
The winner of our quiz was Alan Tyrer, one of our Key Accounts Managers, who got 23 out of 25 correct!
Guess the Jar- We filled a glass jar with small red threaded plugs (matching the theme!) and the staff had to take a guess at how many they thought were in there.
There were 458 threaded plugs in the jar and Steve Smith, one of our Key Accounts Managers, was our winner with a guess of 480!
Staff Bake Off- Some members of staff took part in our ‘Flowtech Red Nose Day Bake Off’, and brought in some home-made baked treats to be judged by the rest of the staff. We had brownies, cupcakes, a school cake tray, carrot cake, strawberry cake and more!
Our office cleaner Jen won by a landslide with her strawberry cake. See below: she even had the Flowtech logo iced onto her cake!
As well as all the fun activities in the office during the day, to raise even more money for Comic Relief our staff have been taking part in our ‘Every Step Counts’ challenge. As you may recall from a previous article a few weeks ago, from Friday 19th February until Red Nose Day, we challenged ourselves with walking as many miles as we collectively could.
Our target was to walk 1,000 miles between us and raise £200 for Comic Relief. You’ll be pleased to know… we smashed it! We walked a total of 2,320 miles between us and raised £230 on our Just Giving page! As I’m sure you will agree, our staff were fantastic for not only taking part in this challenge, but exceeding all expectations.
Combined with the cash donations on the day, we managed to raise an amazing total of £288!!!
We are so proud of our staff and thankful to them for getting involved and supporting such a great cause!
